What is data engineering?
Let's understand how data engineering underpins how data is made usable in many organisations today.
Welcome to this week's Five Data Points.
I'm Dinuraj, and I want to share with you five interesting articles I've read this week that I believe will be valuable to you.
1 - What is data engineering?
Well it is not really an article. It’s a youtube video. It is a good introduction to anyone wondering “what is data engineering?”.
2 - Principles of data engineering
3 - How to keep up with evolving technologies?
4 - An entertaining read on what analytics is… and isn’t…
according to Cassie Kozyrkov, of course.
5 - Lets’ think beyond data-driven organisations
Many governments do not really prioritize data collection because, traditionally, voters don't care about it. That is now changing. With pandemics, economic and food security issues, you have to use data to know where you are, act fast, and prove you are delivering for the people.
I hope these articles enriched your thinking with fresh perspectives and deeper insight. Let me know if any of the articles especially resonate with you, or you have topics that you want explored further.
If you found any value in this at all, do pass it along to your friends and colleagues who you think might benefit from it.
Thanks for joining me on this journey of expanding our knowledge about data. I'll see you again next week with more to learn.
